Was Kanye Right?

Appearing two-thirds through the program, he claimed "
George Bush doesn't care about black people" and said America is set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible."

The show, simulcast from New York on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC and Pax, was aired live to the East Coast, enabling the Grammy-winning rapper's outburst to go out uncensored.

There was a several-second tape delay, but the person in charge "was instructed to listen for a curse word, and didn't realize (West) had gone off-script," said NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks.

West's comment about the president was cut from NBC's West Coast airing, which showed three hours later on tape.

...

"I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're looting. See a white family, it says they're looking for food."

While allowing that "the Red Cross is doing everything they can," West — who delivered an emotional outburst at the American Music Awards after he was snubbed for an award — declared that government authorities are intentionally dragging their feet on aid to the Gulf Coast. Without getting specific, he added, "They've given them permission to go down and shoot us."

After he stated, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," the camera cut away to comedian

Boys and girls, can we say the word censorship? Civil rights advocates warned that the delays now being used to cut out "offensive language" and female boobs on TV would lead to censorship and now we have an example of censorship being foiled only by a censor not being aware yet that dissent is considered profanity by corporate run media.

Oh no!

Truth!

That's disgusting!

Quick!

Switch to a penis enlargement commercial!

Hmmm. No mention of looting.

Further Modifications of the American Dream

(Dreaming About Living in Squalor)

We've got a million poor folks down south here in America
Dreaming about living in squalor. (At least they had squalor then.)
I'm sure they'd all pitch in for gas to send our leaders to hell
But they ain't got a dollar. (So I'll pitch in ten.)

The world's in disbelief that our Bunnypants-in-Chief
And his cronies seem to not care less.
They're only capable of destruction, corruption, and more tax cuts for the rich
Now we know why Iraq is such a mess.

Racism in America finally made the news
New Orleans pictures tell a thousand words.
Our government's reaction in dealing with the non-white and poor
Kinda resembles Saddam when he gassed the Kurds.

We gotta believe this nightmare in the bayou is the Republicans' Chernobyl
That they'll be thrown out of office and into a "for-profit" jail.
The overthrow of the Bunnypants Gang has just started
The shit rainstorm has just turned to hail.

I doubt she would be considered a "looter". She isn't stealing a Plasma TV or 100 pairs of Nike shoes like %99.99 of the people captured on TV.
I am truely sorry that bad things happen to poor people, and that most of those people happen to be black... but that is no excuse for stealing TV's and 100's of pairs of shoes. Taking food, and supplies is tolerated durning a disaster... Taking TVs is not.

Anonymous: didn't you notice that your Fox News was showing the same few TV stealers over and over again?

Geez. Get a clue.

When it's right in front of your eyes, I would think that you would know.

Why do you think all the TV looters were wearing the same clothes? LOL!

Also the picture of a black guy who was called looting by the AP was taking "bread", not a TV.

Why is it you racists have to try to prove something that is not there?

Does it help your feelings of inadequacy?

We as a country should band together & send the whole damn bunch to jail (Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Rove, etc.) If you can't tell a criminal when you see one, you must be a republican!!
