Thinking about the post Katrina rumors.

The question has been bugging me for days.

Why didn't the news media stay strictly with what was proven to be true?

Why did they take information from spurious sources and pass it on to the American people as fact?

Then it came to me. It was just a matter of practice.

After all they have to pass on what the Bush administration says everyday.

If they had to make sure something someone was fact before they reported on it, they couldn't cover the Republican side of anything.

It's all about fairness.

I figure the reporters were presented with the spurious rumors and thought, Oh Well, it's not as bad as the garbage the Bush people pass on.
