Kojo Annan collects substantial damages from UK paper linking him to Food For Oil

Excerpt from Economic Times:
Mr Annan’s son accepted substantial damages over claims that he was involved in deals to sell millions of dollars of Iraqi oil. Businessman Kojo Annan brought libel proceedings in England’s HC after allegations in Sunday Times in January ’05. His solicitor said the newspaper had initially insisted the claim was true. This wasn’t its position now.

Keep this in mind as over and over again you will hear from right wingers that Kojo Annan was guilty of something or other in the Food For Oil scandal which turned out to not have much to do with the UN, but more with US and UK companies mascarading as French companies who gave kickbacks to Saddam.
