Some in GOP Regretting Pork-Stuffed Highway Bill

Okay, there is nothing stopping the GOP from revamping the Highway Bill they passed in June of this year.

It has been only 4 months, the money can't have gone very far, they only contract for one year at a time on those things.
GOP Regretting Pork

The 911 Commission pointed out that Congress has the power to change things when it said that the Congress of the late 90s (which was ...um... dominated by Republicans) had to bear much of the responsibility for the 911 tragedy because instead of providing proper oversite (Congress is to provide oversite to everything--it's in the Constitution) to counterterroris, they decided to play at massive scandalmongering against the president. I know that corporate news did not play that bit of the official report up, but it's in there. My pdf reader is not working right now or I could find the passage on the web for you.

In fact, since 1995 the Pork passed out by Congress has been bigger than ever before.

I am a conservative who would normally vote republican. Not anymore. Specific beefs - out of control spending. Not dealing with real issues of entitlement programs and education which will cripple US. Scandal. An unwillingness to work together. Welcome to Rome Part II with the Chinese as our Visgothes. This president and congress represent the worst generation. Get them out.
